As a renewable energy source, ethanol is less expensive than fossil fuels. Brazil had been refining sugarcane for ethanol since the 1930’s when the country’s agricultural output far surpassed its usage. Eloi Kummetz of the Kummetz Corp LLC says that heavy gasoline-powered cars are a toll on the environment and that recently developed flexible fuel vehicles are manufacturing evolution toward the use of alternately powered vehicles. According to the Kummetz Corp LLC, ethanol burns up to 90% cleaner than traditional fuels. Byproducts of the sugarcane refinement process may also be used as feedstock for other sustainable fuel sources, such as biobutanol and biodiesel. Since sugarcane grows rather quickly and the refinement process leaves very little waste behind, sugarcane is considered the most efficient biofuel base available today, notes Kummetz Corp LLC.

Aside from just environmental positives, the Kummetz Corp LLC points out that by stimulating agricultural developments in rural regions of Brazil, they have also been able to help stabilize parts of the country’s economy.
